Where does the time go?! I've come to realize in my old age (bleh) that once you get passed 21 the years just FLY by at lightening speed. We are at 3/4 of a year as a legal entity and we just can't believe how time has just become a big blur. We are super grateful for all the support we have had from our family, friends, and cake minions who have come to the dark side for the best damn cake ever baked!!

1 thing that we are SUPER excited about is.... Disney!! These cake divas are heading out to O-Town tomorrow to visit the mouse (of course) but more importantly, it's Star Wars Weekend!! We've got a pack of nerds heading out to rub elbows with the Dark Lord himself as well as droids, Jedis, and troopers!! Another thing I've learned via the Disney Food Blog- The author set forth a challenge; A Cupcake Crawl!! Challenge accepted. Unfortunately, there's no stamps in a passport or pin when you complete it (damn), but still, a gauntlet has been thrown and I WILL NOT BACK DOWN!! Ha ha ha ha

Second thing we are SUPER excited about is... Amazon.com!! We were oficially accepted as an Amazon vendor, so now you will be able to purchase our AMAZING products via Amazon.com! I truly believe it's a great opportunity to get our products introduced to people who may not otherwise happen upon them. We accept all opportunities that arise in hopes that the exposure will open up a new realm of contacts and customers.

And lastly, the third thing we are SUPER excited about it is... Cater Hater Blog!! Wow, all I can say is... I am CONVINCED that everything happens for a reason! If it wasn't for fiverr.com, I wouldn't have come across a gig from Carlo at www.carloatyourservice.com, author of the UBER popular blog Cater Hater. She has become an amazing ally with an abundance of knowledge in the event planning and catering field, as well as SEO strategies!! She's my new Guru!! (bowing)

I have to confess... Megan and I had hoped we would have become a household name by now like Kleenex or Q-Tip. That just goes to show how naive we are when it comes to this world. We figured, build the website, they will come. It's just NOT that simple. The website is up, it's gorgeous, and the store is open 24/7. Now the hard part of letting people know we are here and baking/selling the BEST cake pops and cake shots (hands down) that anyone has ever tasted commences.

Well, I have to finish getting ready for the dreaded day job and then pack tonight for Disney, but I wish upon a star that all my cake dreams do come true!!

What we did come up with was pretty ingenious. As I was sitting at ared light in Boca Raton the other day, there were 2 women in the median with "please help" signs. Now, I feel bad for the homeless just as much as everyone else, but even if I WAS homeless, I don't think I could beg. I would do SOMETHING to earn what I get. And I thought, well if they entertained me while I sit here I would definitely be more inclined to hand out a couple of bucks. THEN IT HIT ME!! Instead of asking for something, I thought, why not GIVE something?!?! It's always been said that's better to give than receive, so we decided that we will start doing reconnaissance missions at random intersections on random days... No, you'll never know where we are gonna spring up but it WILL be somewhere in Broward county!! We are goning to hand out free cake pops to drivers with a coupon, and wish them a safe trip home!! It's a great way to get our name out there, and it's a GREAT little "pick me up" for people on their way home!!

Besides winning the lottery, that's all we have come up with. I will say, this HCG diet is kickin our butts!! We have a weight loss goal before August in hopes we get to go on Cupcake Wars. Neither one of us want a camera to add 10lbs. to our already plump rumps. So, we decided to drop a few pounds before our rise to stardom (he he) and all I can say is... I WANT CAKE POPS!!

I promise to be more diligent with the posting now that we have time to breathe. Between markets, pop o' the month fullfillments, PrideFest, and those dread day jobs we have just been uber busy. However, I think I can commit to 1 every 10 days or so to drop updates and state of the union addresses. Did I happen to mention I WANT CAKE POPS!!

We've just been super duper busy in the kitchen and figuring out where to go from here. The green markets are done for the season (whew! We made it), and no we are concentrating on building out our own kitchen, but as far as next step... we are at a loss. SEO options just aren't what we think is an optimum use of our budget, and our thoughts are to continue along on our path of "thinking outside the box". But where that leads is what has our minds boggled. So as we continue along WITH OUR WEBSTORE OPEN (woo hoo), we have to figure a way to promote the site that doesn't include commercials and print ads.

But as far as yummies are concerned, WE ARE ROCKIN IN THAT DEPARTMENT! April's shipments are heading out the door, and our Groupon redemptions are coming in at a steady pace which is perfect! That way, we aren't too overwhelmed and fulfillment is error free and timely!

On a side note, we had WAY too much fun at PrideFest in Fort Lauderdale!! Thanks to Marc Hansen and the rest of the PrideFest crew for putting on a terrific weekend and for allowing us the opportunity to participate! Such an eclectic group of individuals, and we were the HIT of the festival! Heck, Megan was recognized the week after, and she totally felt like a rockstar!

I guess I will come to a close for now. I need to get in the kitchen and finish up baking the April pops, and then we are going to be cleaning off my patio to celebrate Megan's birthday next weekend! So is everyone as happy to see our Groupon as we were to offer it to you?! When they contacted us and asked us to offer a deal, we wanted to make it something special that we don't normally do!! Our webstore is so close to launching, the flight team is strapped into their seats and Houston is about to begin the countdown!! Now we will have the capability to offer our amazing pops to the world 24/7! Just the next step in world domination through cake pops!

While Megan was on vacation in Breckenridge last week, she started to go through cake pop withdrawl so she bee-lined it for the nearest bakery, and guess what?! THEY DON'T HAVE CAKE!! Of any kind! Apparently, the altitude does not allow for moist cake, so people live off of brownies and ice cream. OMG!! I would never be able to survive without cake!! Guess we will just have to supply to all the spots in the USA where cake pops don't grow on trees like they do here in sunny South Florida!

Megs and I are still observing lent (no I am not catholic, but I am nothing if not a supportive friend), so no cheese & crackers for me, and no soda or broccoli cheese soup for her (YES these are BIG sacrifices on our part). You better believe my Easter dinner will consist of cheese and Sociable crackers!!

Well, I am off for some well deserved sleep, and I truly hope that Megan can post the cake pops to right accounts tonight (private joke)!Just chalk it up to long and tiring days and evenings filling her dreams too where our Wicked cake pops are currency and insurance companies use them as payment to surgery centers! SWEET!!

Seriously though, I haven't been posting because I've been baking, and baking, and baking, then I slept for about a minute, ate a cake pop, then resumed baking!! We have been WICKED busy (ha ha), and for that we feel truly blessed and we have all of you to thank for it! I can tell you that our Cake Pop Addicts Anonymous Group is growing bigger by the day, and Megan and I are glad to see we aren't the only ones! Our cake pops truly are addicting, and Pringles can go ahead and sue me, but "Once you Pop, you can't Stop!"

We are so happy to be shipping out our club subscriptions, and we are even happier when we hear how much everyone enjoys them! We are so close to going live with our webstore it's scary! We are so excited about it, I think we just might explode! We will be keeping our store strictly for pops right now, with the plan of introducing the cake shots in the future. Don't worry, you WILL be able to call us and place a private order for shots if you would like, we are keeping the store to just pops until we are comfortable with our shot menus and samplers. Can you believe we are only about 7 months old?? Time is just whizzing by at an alarming rate, and we have accomplished SO MUCH in such a short period of time.

We are also gearing up to participate as vendors at this year's PRIDE event in Fort Lauderdale on March 10 & 11! Such an amazing weekend to be a part of, and we can't wait to introduce our PopTailz to the public!! (That's our line of alcohol infused, cocktai inspired cake pops!) Just when you thought we couldn't POSSIBLY do any better than our pops, we went and kicked them up a notch on ya!! We are still taking phone orders until the site opens, so don't think you have to wait until it's live to get your fix! Just call or email Meggles (that's Megan to all of you) and we will have the elves (that's Janice to all of you) whip up a special pink (or black for pops) box just for you!!

Megan and I have been working our little tails off this week, and it's only Tuesday!! We are simultaneously getting ready for our HUGE charity event this Saturday for the Zoological Society of Miami, as well as working on our February works of art that we have to send to 46 lucky ducks (and still counting)! But let me be perfectly clear THIS IS NOT BITCHING!! I am totally busy with what I LOVE to do, therefore, I have no problems with it and I am NOT BITCHING I am sharing our joy with you!!

And guess what?! We even found time to hit the gym! However, Christian (my son) was ready to call social services tonight to report child neglect because I couldn't make him my oh so yummy lasagna for dinner. Really?! START lasagna at 8pm? So I compromised and promised to make it this Sunday! It's insanely important to keep our customers happy, but I have to say, it's far more important to keep your loved ones happy. Without their love and support, you just won't get very far!

We seem to have so much going on right now, it feels like the world is spinning at warp speed! We have the Beast Feasting this Saturday, preparing for February Pop Club mailings, planning our pop bouquets for Valentine's (keep an eye on FaceBook to see what we have for you to order), also planning our Super Bowl tribute cake shots for Parkland, and oh yeah, taking a small jaunt to Orlando to take a certain ungrateful Lasagna muncher to a Jonathan Coulton concert as well as 3 days of Disney. Whew! I'm tired just typing about all of it!

I guess I'll leave you for now, as I still have to check email, do a little FaceBook-ing, and I see it's my turn on Words with Friends! By the way, the ONLY person who has beaten me at that game is my stupid brother and between you and me... I think he cheats.

LOL, 99% of you now have your January cake pops and I am dying to know what you think?! We have had a couple FaceBook posts about their utter yumminess, which pleases me GREATLY! Trust me, I know you can't please everyone, and I am sure there may be a flavor that arises that someone might not be interested in, but for the most part, I think I hit upon all different flavor profiles. As you have seen when you opened your box, I found a PERFECT use for all those darn catalogs that go from mailbox to recycle bin! Please feel free to shop the pages you have while enjoying your cake pops! Who knows, you might find a super cute new dress, comforter, on some new camoflauge hunting gear for your Mountain Man!! ( I say that because I have one of those, hence, the catalogs).

We have given Team Genius (that's Victor and friends at Contour Graphics to you) the green light to begin production on our webstore! We are so excited about it going live, and being able to allow all of you the ease of internet shopping then shipping right to your door! Now if only Pei-Wei would deliver, I would NEVER have a reason to leave my jammies!!

But seriously, Megan and I truly feel blessed for the incredible progress we have made in just 6 months! We went from simply making cake shots to sell at the green markets trying to get our name out there, to catering South Beach Grand Openings, GORGEOUS weddings, countless birthday and holiday parties, and coming soon... the Feast with the Beasts VIP Party at a private residence in Pinecrest! Don't worry, we will be posting ALL the pics of the famous people eating our cake shots & pops!! And NOW... our store! I plan on opening the fist cake pop shop on the moon!

Always remember, if you see the wicked mobiles driving around town (we have magnetic car signs), beep your horn and give us a thumbs up to let us know your a club member, fan, or cake pop addict. It really does make us feel a whole lot better knowing we aren't the only ones!!

Thank you to everyone who took a leap and bought our deal from a couple of cake babes you know nothing about! I promise you won't be disappointed! Just so you all know, once your first shipment arrives, and you instantly become addicted (which you will), you can still upgrade to 6 months or a full year as stated in the Living Social deal. I am sure there is hesitation to do so if you haven't tasted them, but once you pop...YOU CAN'T STOP!! I Guarantee it!

Megan and I were secretly hoping to mess some up last night so we had an excuse to eat them! LOL, unfortunately, they all came out beautifully, so we boxed them up and are shipping them out to their new homes!

Now here's the BIG question. Should we be focusing more on expanding our pop side of the business, or the cake shots?! My head is telling me to stick with the current trend and ride it until it dies out. THEN introduce the NEXT bid thing!

On a different note, we are SUPER excited about the Feast with the Beasts event we are taking part in on January 28th! It's a private party for members of the Zoological Society for about 500 people! We are going to look uber cute, and hand out some of our amazing delights to some of the most influential people in South FL! Can't wait to see the response to our products!

It's chilly outside, my thermometer says 54 degrees (FINALLY! Winter sometimes forgets to visit South Florida), the excitement of what MIGHT be "under the tree" has me up at 3am and writing this blog, and I can't decide what I fear more-the possibility of our deal being a flop, or the possibility of it going viral.

At the end of the day, we are just 2 babes working our asses off to try and make our teeny tiny company a mega sensation. NOBODY does what we do. We are 1 of 2 pop clubs int he country. THAT"S HUGE!! Not to mention the new and innovative goodies I have the Oompa Loompa's working on that I am keeping under wraps for now ;) .

I guess what I am asking The Living Social Fairy for is a huge response to our Pop Club. I want people to love our cake as much as I do, and it really is not fun to be addicted to our cake pops all by myself!!

OK, It's 4:06 am, I have to get ready for the day job pretty soon. So I'm gonna finish catching up on my DVR'd Glee episodes, and keep wishing upon the star on top of my tree for something really BIG to go under that same tree. Now that you're done reading and I'm done typing, let's go eat a cake pop!

Now, we are looking forward to 2012. So excited about what's in store for us this coming year. Our Living Social deal is set to run starting January 4th at 5:00am, and will run for 72 hours. We couldn't be more ecstatic about it! We hope everyone will take advantage of this great deal to try our pop club for themselves, as well as share it with friends and loved ones. Without the support of our friends, family, and fans we are nothing but 2 chicks getting fat on cake!!

We will be a sponsor at the Feast with the Beasts event through the Zoological Society of Miami on January 28th. We will be setting up our incredible display, dressing to the nines Bettie Page Style, and rubbing elbows with the social elite of Miami. We would never have that kind of opportunity if it wasn't for the determination of 2 cake babes pounding the pavement and working tirelessly to get our products out there so people know who we are.

We are on the verge of crazy as we patiently await the green light for our Living Social Deal to go viral. I forsee very little slumber in my future. And I could care less. Sleep is overrated, and scars are sexy. (yes, I do have a few permanent reminders of why potholders were invented.) I truly believe we are destined to become the next internet based gift giving sensation. I can TOTALLY see us becoming the next Edible Arrangements or Cookies By Design concept. Shipping out cake shot and cake pop bouquets for everything from "It's a BOY!" to "Bride to Be", and so much more! However, I don't think I can do the whole "franchising" thing. I would have to "trust" that the locations are producing the products to my specifications, and the OCD control freak in me just isn't willing to do that. Therefore, I will just have to ship worldwide from our location. And we do, just in case you were wondering!

This weekend at the Parkland Green Market is our last chance to be sporting our super cute pink sparkle Santa hats and showing off our pink and black Christmas tree. Come see us and mention you read this blog, and I will GIVE you a cake pop! I will be patient, because great things come to those that are.

So in the very NEAR future, when you see us pop up on your phone or computer with our Lving Social deal, do the right thing, and BUY IT!! It seems like it has taken forever, but in actuality, it has not even been 6 months! In less than 6 months, we have gone from a concept born in an oppressive cubicle in corporate America, to a living breathing entity that is starting to run too fast for us to catch up, LOL! Megan and I were sitting at our desks dreaming up alcohol infused cakes that mirror cocktails. And out of my mouth comes, "you know... we could TOTALLY do this", and Megan replies with "TOTALLY". And here we are. 6 months later and we have Team Genius at Contour Graphics to thank for our branding: everything from business cards to Website. They made it happen. And we LOVE it!

We've had our ups and our downs. There will be PLENTY of both of those to go around in the future, but for now, we are so excited to see where we can take this. Are we the next Sara Lee? Cheesecake Factory? or maybe the next internet gift sensation (that's what I am leaning towards). I can thank all of you for helping to make these dreams happen, and we hope to hear from everyone soon.

I mostly hope that my husband and son don't decide to leave me since I bake cake every night instead of cooking dinner! I think it's worth it-Do what you love, and the money will follow. That's a wonderful philosophy. Take these pearls of wisdom, people, I am handing them out free! The cake you gotta pay for, though!!
